There are two application
forms available depending on which visa
option you wish to are
eligible to apply
for. Once you have
been granted an offer
for
sponsorship
from Immigration SA, you
will need
to
lodge the
appropriate visa
application with
DIAC, pay the required
fee
and meet all
other DIAC
requirements.
If you are keen to live in
South Australia and require Sponsorship
from the State
Government of
South
Australia to
assist you meeting
the
required
points
for
migration.

Applicants
are
not
sponsored and
must pass a points
test. This visa allows you to
migrate
to
Australia
if
you have good
English
language
skills
and have
skills
and
qualifications
in
an occupation in need
in
Australia. This
visa uses a points
test
to select
visa
applicants
with
characteristics
needed in Australian
labour
market.
You do not require sponsorship to apply for
this visa.
Skilled Sponsored
(Migrant) visa (subclass
176) A
permanent
visa for people unable
to meet
the
Skilled Independent pass mark.
Applicants must be
either sponsored by
an eligible relative
living in Australia
or nominated by a
participating
State or Territory
government.
Applicants
must
pass a
points
test
lower
than that
for the
Skilled
Independent
visa.
This visa allows you to migrate to Australia
if you have good English language skills
and
have
skills
and
qualifications in
an
occupation in need in
Australia.
This visa uses a points test to select visa
applicants with characteristics needed
in the Australian
labor market.
You must be sponsored by an eligible relative
living in Australia or obtain nomination
from
a
participating
State or Territory
government agency.
Skilled Regional
Sponsored (Provisional) visa (subclass
475) A three (3)
year
provisional visa for people who can meet
the lower
pass
mark for this
visa.
Applicants
must be
either
sponsored by
an
eligible
relative
living in
a
designated
area of
Australia
or
nominated
by a
participating
state/territory
government. After
living
for
two (2)
years and
working for at least one
(1)
year
in a
Specified
Regional Area,
applicants
can apply
for a
permanent
visa. This
visa
is a three
(3) year
provisional
visa for
skilled
workers
who are unable
to meet the
criteria
for
a
Skilled
Independent
visa.
You will have
the
opportunity
to
apply for
permanent
residency after
you have lived for
two
(2) years and
worked at least 12
months in a Specified
Regional
Area of
Australia.
Skilled Recognized
Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass
476) An 18
month
temporary visa for graduates of
recognized overseas
educational
institutions
who
have skills
in
demand
in
Australia.
There
is no
points test
for this
visa.
This visa allows recent graduates of selected
overseas universities to gain up to 18
months of skilled work
experience in
occupations in
demand in
Australia.
As a holder of this visa, you may apply for
permanent residence at any time if you
are able to meet the
pass mark on the
General Skilled
Migration points
test.
(State/Territory
Nominated Independent) visa (subclass
176 and
886) If you have
an
occupation which is in demand in NSW,
Victoria, Western
Australia, South
Australia or
Tasmania,
then you
can be
sponsored
for a
State/Territory
Nominated Independent
(STNI)
visa. This
particular category of
visa
was created
by the
Australian
government
to
encourage skilled migrants
to settle
in
certain regions
in Australia. Note
that you would need
to
score only 70
points in the
points test for this
category, but
you
would be expected to
live in the
state
which
sponsors you
for at least
the
first 2 years
of
your stay in
Australia. In
order to
be
nominated by
one of
these
governments
for an STNI visa,
you must pass skills
assessment in
an
occupation
which is in
demand
in one of
these
states. You

This
visa
allows
you to
enter or
remain in
Australia on the basis of your
married
or
de-facto
relationship with
your partner:
on a temporary visa (usually for a waiting period of
approximately two (2) years from the
date you applied for
the visa)
on a permanent visa if, after the waiting period (if
applicable), your partner relationship
still exists
and you
are still
eligible
for
this visa.
Your partner must provide sponsorship for you.
Student
Visa To
be granted a student
visa you must
satisfy the visa
requirements
and
comply with a
number of
visa
conditions
for
attendance and
academic performance which come
into
effect
after
you
have entered Australia.
Your
student visa
will list
the
conditions
that apply
specifically to
you. It is
important
to
comply with
your
visa
conditions to
avoid visa
cancellation. The
student
visa has
seven separate
sub-classes for
each education
sector. You should apply
under
the visa
sub-class for your
principal
course
of study.
